How do you deal with criticism? I think the first reaction for most of us is to defend ourselves, or worse yet to lash back. Can we apply any of the 13 measures so as to accept criticism with grace and appreciation. And in doing so, feel great about ourselves ?

  1. Every criticism tells you something about yourself and the other person. One needs to understand this and respect each other’s opinion.first and second point are very important to understand. One should have the patience to listen to others however as much painful it is. And we should try to bring something good in everyone’s speech.

  4. As every coin has two sides similarly, it is not neccessary that our every deed or task is always appreciated sometimes it can also result in critisicm however, according to me at times it becomes a neccessary subject for growth as, the critic targets our mistakes which consequently leads to our growth.

  5. Criticism is never fun. First we have to know the difference between destructive and constructive criticism. If we want to deal with criticism then we have to understand the message behind it. If someone is giving us valid criticism stop making excuses for why that person is completely wrong.

  7. LISTEN to them what really they want to say. One should accept the words meant to make them better, no matter how awful it may feel hearing them. Even the most painful comment can teach us something about ourselves

By doing this we are enables us to build better relationships with others and allows us to take responsibility for our lives. It makes us a better person and people respect those who can admit mistakes.

  10. Criticism is inevitable. So it needs to be taken positively for personal growth. It’s on us how we take it. Sometimes we do not agree with other people but it’s ok to explain your point of view without disrespecting others.

  15. Criticism is not a piece of cake for human beings as many of us take ut negatively. However, we have to take it every now and then irrespective of the field and designation we work on. To take criticism optimistically, one must owns efficient listening skills, one must be that much mature to recognise a thin line difference between being criticised and being humiliated. Criticism if taken positively can do wonders hence if its true to the sense one must practice acceptance and working of area of growth.

  17. The word CRITICISM itself creates negativity in one’s mind. But their are very few who would actually take it positively and try and improve oneself .
I suppose listening to the person who is criticising you carefully and analysing what the output of it is?? and thereafter accepting your mistake can be a valid suggestion.
