Every student has his own set of needs and aspirations from education and relating to those aspirations, each students needs to be inspired individually and an effective teachers knows exactly how to do that.

If an athlete struggles due to a lack of understanding or acquisition of fundamental skills or improper technique, that athlete is given one-on-one intervention time to correct the improper techniques or to develop essential skills necessary for the athlete to make advancements in his/her athletic abilities.

    In parallel, effective teachers provide ongoing personalized corrective feedback. Teachers who make the greatest impact on student-learning are those who make strategic efforts to ensure each student knows, not simply a letter grade or score, but also why he/she earned that grade.

    Great teachers strive to support individual growth in every student in their instructional care by providing specific personalized feedback to guide each learner in understanding how they can retool his/her thinking when necessary. Without corrective feedback, students often have no clue how to improve as learners; with it, students can be inspired by not only seeing their own progress but by feeling the affection and care of individual attention.

    I agree with pt 3..Effective teachers differentiate through individual and group instruction.In a typical classroom, you’ll find students who are reading above their grade level and others who are behind. You might find that some learn best by working with other kids, while others prefer working alone. And some students need special help along the way to fill in areas where they struggle.

    The best teachers reach all their students by giving the whole class a great experience. But they change up the material a bit for each student. Everyone learns at their own pace.

    I would go with point No.1.
    Effective coaches set clear goals and help students reach those goals.
    Students know what is expected of them throughout the school day. This allows them to feel more confident, engaged and connected to the school. It also makes it easier for teachers to recognize positive behaviors, and to correct problem behaviors to keep small problems small.

    Positive teacher-student relationships help students meet these needs. Teacheroffer feedback to support their feelings of competence. Teachers who know their students’ interests and preferences and show regard and respect for these individual differences. Inspire by introducing them to heroes, and make learning fun. Share a mutual respect for each other. Convey our passion for the subject we teach.

  16. If we try to finalize one quality of an effective teacher , I feel that would rather be unfair. Every teacher has his/her own strong qualities which differentiate the teacher from other co-teachers.
    How we say every student is a different individual, same way every teacher is different.
    However, if we were to look at an overview, an effective teacher would be the one who displays strong values in each lecture delivered by him/her and automatically inspires students. No special pressure is applied by such teachers. Students just get motivated.

  17. I always thought reflection was just an “add-on” or “bonus” activity that teachers asked me to do in school. It wasn’t until entering the classroom as an educator that my perception changed: I realized self-reflection is a necessary part of the learning process. Teaching students to self-reflect meant teaching them to teach themselves.
    Many of the ideas that teachers today view as truisms: educational materials should be relevant to students’ lives, students should engage in valuable activities instead of rote learning, and classrooms should function as communities to prepare students for participation in a democracy.

    Effective teachers foster ownership of self-development through self-analysis & self-assessment. They know the power and value of self-assessment and self-reflection. Effective teachers foster self-awareness within their students by creating protocols and routines that support self-reflection and self-assessment. They embed structures for students to routinely monitor their own learning progress. Just as an athlete runs down the court routinely looking up to check the scoreboard, students in a self-aware learning culture develop an intrinsic need to regularly monitor their own progress through self-assessment and self-reflection.
